Sibilla’s Music

Sibilla’s music is emotional, powerful and contemplative; songs feature sophisticated lyrics combined with clever arrangements combining heavy sounds with evocative melodies and dreamy synths. Sibilla’s sound reflects the love for Nina Simone, Bessie Smith, Nick Cave, David Bowie, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Chris Cornell as well as rock, blues, jazz and synth pop music. Influences also include experimental artists and singers such as John Cage, Terry Reily, Diamanda Galas, Demetrio Stratos, Mike Patton, The Residents and classic composers such as Ennio Morricone and Angelo Badalamenti.

The word ‘Sibilla’ translates as ‘sibyl’ from the Italian language. In the mythical past narrated in the ancient Mediterranean literature Sibyl was the legendary prophetess that lived in hidden places and used to utter prophecies in ecstatic frenzy, inspired by the gods
